About Us

Vicky Shannon, Founder of East Dallas Camps, is a veteran educator with over 25 years of teaching and coaching experience. Known to the Dallas ISD Hexter Elementary community as "Ms. Shannon," she has spent nearly a decade coaching many VEX Robotics teams through the VEX IQ and VEX Go programs.
 
A specialist in hands-on learning, Vicky has also mentored numerous Destination Imagination and UIL Academic teams, fostering a culture of teamwork and discovery. She believes children learn best through collaborative inquiry and is thrilled to bring her expertise to the wider East Dallas community.
 
At East Dallas Camps, Vicky is backed by a team of professional teachers and VEX Robotics mentors dedicated to delivering a world-class STEM experience that turns curious students into confident innovators.​ Staff are background-checked and have completed and are certified in Youth Camp Protection training and Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED. Join us for a fun, engaging experience filled with friendship, creativity, and robotics!
